SMITH - Arleen (Mardis), 41, Johnstown, died Sept. 29, 2006, at Memorial Medical Center. Born March 31, 1965, in Conemaugh, daughter of Richard and Geraldine (Doran) Mardis. Preceded in death by husband, Dale Edward Smith, and father. Surviving are children, Nikole Herndon, Johnstown; A.J. Herndon and John Smith, both of Mundys Corner; mother, Geraldine, Mundys Corner; brothers and sisters, Nancy Fisher, and husband, Ken, Mineral Point; Philip Mardis and Mary, Mundys Corner; Pam Rieg, and husband, Ken, Mineral Point; Mark Mardis, and wife, Carol; and Karen Nealen, and husband, Bill, all of Mundys Corner; and many nieces and nephews. Member of Bridges of Life Church and Oakland United Methodist Church, both of Johnstown. A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. Monday at Bridges of Life Church, Johnstown, the Rev. Jim Lockary officiating. The family is being assisted by Bowser-Ondriezek Funeral Home, Nanty Glo.
