TONTALA - Nellie C., 74, Conway, formerly of Nanty Glo, died Saturday, Sept. 23, 2006, at Sewickley Valley Hospital, following a brief illness. Born May 11, 1932, in Morgan Run, she was the daughter of Joseph and Julia Moskalik Materna. A homemaker, she was a member of Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church, Conway. She was preceded in death by brothers, Joseph, Michael and John Materna, and sisters, Katherine Ann Milkovich and Mary Villani. She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Frank J. Tontala Sr., formerly of Twin Rocks; three sons, Frank J. Jr., Maryland, and William M. and Thomas P., both of Ohio; a daughter, Kathleen J., Pittsburgh; three grandchildren, Frank III, Andrew and Nicole Tontala; and a sister, Julia Materna, Rochester. Friends were received at Poland Funeral Home Inc., 901 First Ave., Conway, where a prayer service was held, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Peace Church. Interment was in Sylvania Hills Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to Our Lady of Peace Building Fund.
