CANGIOLI - Aldo, 86, New Germany, died Oct. 9, 2006, surrounded by his loving family. Born April 23, 1920, in Montepiano, Italy, son of the late Angelo and Erina (Scatizzi) Cangioli. Survived by wife of 58 years, the former Florence Christy, and these children: Harold Cangioli, Newport, Pa.; Kathleen, wife of Charles Long, New Germany; Ruth, wife of David Ferchalk, Summerhill; and Brenda Cangioli, Ebensburg; 10 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren. Brother of Teresa Castelli. Retired from Eastern Gas and Fuel Coal Co., Colver, with 40 years' service. Member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, New Germany; ISDA, VFW, UMWA Local #860 and Sons of Italy, Colver. An Army veteran of WWII, serving in Africa and Italy from 1942-1945. Friends received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Matevish and Matevish Funeral Home, Ebensburg, where vigil wake service will be held Tuesday evening. Funeral Mass will be held at noon Wednesday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, New Germany, the Rev. Fr. Alfred Patterson, celebrant. Committal in St. Mary's Cemetery, New Germany. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Research Foundation. Military rites will be conducted by Menoher VFW Post 155.
