ILLIG - Charles A., 89, Admiral Peary Highway, Loretto, died Dec. 11, 2004, in Cresson. Born Jan. 1, 1915, in Cambria Township, son of Phillip and Mary (Duman) Illig. Preceded in death by parents; wife, the former Ellen "Gig" Ingoldsby, on Oct. 21, 2004; and brothers and sisters, Bernard, Ann Ehrhart, Evelyn Noel and Hugh. Survived by daughters, Mary Ellen Ramsey of Munster, and Ann, wife of Ken Strittmatter, of Ebensburg; grandchildren, John, Lisa, Julie, Jason, Lory (Tim) King and Chuck; and great-grandchildren, Cole, Nicole, Lexi, Chelsea, Josh, Kelsey and Emily. Brother of Marg Carney of Seward, Catherine Fodor of Elton, Francis of Cresson and John of Ellwood City. Retired from PennDot, Ebensburg, and was formerly employed by Bethlehem Mines, Nanty Glo. Former owner of Munster Auto Wreckers. Army veteran of World War II. Friends received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at Matevish and Matevish Funeral Home, Ebensburg, where vigil wake service will be held Monday. Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Basilica of St. Michael the Archangel, Loretto, Msgr. Timothy Swope. Committal, St. Michael Cemetery, Loretto.
