Evans - Kathryn L. (Empfield), 90, of Ebensburg, passed away November 26, 2006 at Memorial Medical Center, Johnstown. Born June 5, 1916 in Belsano, daugher of the late Thomas and Cora (Putt) Empfield. Preceded in death by husband Fred Wilson Evans, brother Clayton Empfield, and sisters: Almeta Teeter, Gertrude Learn, and Dorothy Waite.
Survived by sons: Fred Wilson Jr., and wife Imelda Evans, of Rockville, Maryland; Richard Allan, and wife Carol Evans, of Huntingdon, grandchildren: David Evans, Susan and husband Gary Weinstein, Jason and Paul Evans; great grandchildren Michael, Katie, Rachael Weinstein and Caleb Evans; sister Grace Hollen, of Mechanicsburg and numerous nieces and nephews. Kathryn was a homemaker and part-time cashier at the former Evans Pharmacy in Ebensburg.
Friends will be received from 6 to 8:00 p.m, Tuesday at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Ebensburg, where a funeral service will be held at 11:00 am, Wednesday, the Rev. Dr. Frank Brosius, officiating. Interment at Lloyd Cemetery, Ebensburg.
