Wyland, Thomas R., Sr., 67, Meadowview Court, Ebensburg, and formerly of Westmont, died January 20, 2005 at UPMC Lee Regional Hospital. Born April 9, 1937 in Barnesboro, son of the late Cleon and Marie (Divido) Wyland. Survived by wife, the former Linda Black, to whom he was married 42 years, and sons: Scott (Kelli) Wyland, Harrisburg; Gregg (Deborah) Wyland, Ashburn, Virgina; and Tom (Stacey) Wyland of Oak Hill, Virginia. Loving Pop-pop to Olivia, Luke, Keely, Isabella, Elliot, and Abigail. Brother of Mary Ellen Tibbott of Northern Cambria.
Tom was retired District Administrator for the Pennsylvania Office of Vocational Rehabilitation in Altoona. Upon his retirement he served as a Vocational Expert for the Social Security Administration.
A graduate of St. Francis University, he served on the Board of Directors for the Centers for Independent Living (C.I.L.) in Altoona. A Navy reserve veteran and member of Holy Name Roman Catholic Church, Ebensburg.
Friends will be received from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m., Sunday at Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc.,
Ebensburg, where a vigil prayer service will be held Sunday afternoon. Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m., Monday at Holy Name Church, the Rev. Msgr. Arnold L. Gaus, celebrant. Committal at Holy Name Cemetery. Contributions in Tom's memory may be made to the Holy Name School Angel Fund, 500 N. Julian Street, Ebensburg, Pa. 15931
