Obituary of Roy Lee Little, Sr.
LITTLE – Roy L., Sr., 70, of Mundy’s Corner, passed away January 17, 2020 at home, surrounded by his loving family. Born January 28, 1949 in Johnstown, son of the late William E. “Doll” Little Jr. and Dorothy (Burkhart) Little. Survived by wife, the former Betty Buck, to whom he was married 50 years and children: Roy Little Jr., Mundys Corner; Michelle (Donald) Yeager, Dillsburg, and one grandson, “His Little Buddy” Owen Yeager. Also survived by brothers and sisters: William (Karen) Little, III; Jean Little; and Donald Little; all of Mundy’s Corner; and Lynn (Albert) Waskovich, of Virginia. Roy was retired from the US Postal Service in Somerset. He also spent 13 years in the mines as a buggy runner for BethEnergy Mines 31 and 78. A Vietnam War Army veteran, he had served in the 196th Americal Division, Fire Support Base, where he received burns on 40% of his body. A proud member of the DAV and a loyal member of the Nanty Glo United Methodist Church. A loving husband, father, and grandfather, he enjoyed hunting, tinkering and showing antique cars (he had owned three) and spending time with his family. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Nanty Glo; and from 11:00 a.m., until the time of Funeral Service at 12:00 noon at the Nanty Glo United Methodist Church, the Rev. Bill Warrick, officiating. Interment at Pineland Cemetery, Strongstown. In lieu of flowers, donations in Roy’s memory may be made to the Nanty Glo United Methodist Church. Military Veteran’s Rites by the Nanty Glo, Vintondale and Twin Rocks Veteran’s Ritual Team.
