SEAMAN – Ethel L., 93, of Mundys Corner, passed peacefully into the arms of the Lord on May 31, 2020 at Atrium Manor, Johnstown. Born Nov. 27, 1926 in Windber, daughter of the late Frank and Ann (Hlatky) Dulashaw. Last surviving member of her immediate family. Preceded in death by husband, Ernest A. Seaman; and siblings, Agnes Buckus, Ann Grosik, Fred, Edward, Paul, George, Joseph, and Thomas Dulashaw; and Mary Manculich. Survived by loving daughters, Barbara and husband George Wallet; and Paula and husband Dr. F. Lynn Sanderson. Grandsons, Christopher (Terrance) Seaman Wallet and Gary (Amanda) Sanderson. Great Grandsons, Connor, Mason and Luke Sanderson; and many nieces and nephews. Also survived by sisters in law, Donna Dulashaw and Constance Dulashaw; brother in law, Phil Manculich; and her “adopted family”, Brenda and Dave Ciner. Ethel was the first member of her family to graduate from High School, Ebensburg-Cambria in 1945. She was a Nanny in Pittsburgh for several years and returned to Mundys Corner and worked at the former Insley’s Clothing Store in Johnstown, before marrying. She and her husband operated Seaman’s Beer Distributing for many years. Ethel was a founding member of St. John Vianney Catholic Church, Mundys Corner where she also sang in the funeral choir. She loved to read and even after she became blind, she listened to books on tape. She did craft work, crocheted and enjoyed sewing; and decorating for the holidays. She especially loved Christmas and kept many of the Slovak traditions of her youth. She was a wonderful mother who made her family the center of her life, especially her grandsons. A special thank you to all her caregivers, past and present, especially the Atrium Staff, and in particular, Doreen. Due to public health concerns at this time, services are private, however a memorial service will be held at a later date for Ethel's family and friends. Arrangements in care of Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Nanty Glo. Condolences may be left for the family at: www.askew-houser.com.
