Mom, you will always be remembered and loved by your family. While suffering greatly and wracked with pain in your final years, you still managed a laugh. You made us laugh with your stories and brought love into the lives of your husband, children and grandchildren. You did not always agree with us, but you loved us unconditionally. It makes me smile, that although sore and exhausted, we could coax you into a Thanksgiving dinner, or a slice of pizza on the lawn. Your illness was not always kind to you. Yet, you always checked on me and asked about family members. No matter the situation, you worried (as only you could) about how I (or they) were doing. That kindness and compassion define you. You loved music and loved to dance. You talked of past vacations or road-trips and I could see the happiness that brought you. I will cherish these memories forever Mom. While grief-stricken and mourning, I am happy knowing you are finally pain free. I close my eyes and picture you dancing with Grandma across the Kingdom of Heaven. In picturing this, I shed sad, yet happy tears. Mom, I will miss you forever. Your passing has left a void in our collective lives that cannot, and will not, be filled. However, I know you are now watching over us. Rejoice Mom! Your pain and suffering are over. Dance away and polka with Grandma for me. This is not good-bye….but an “I will see you again one day”. Mom, I love you so much. I wish I could have said this once more to you. I couldn’t, but until I can say it in person…..Mom, I love you!
