Obituary of Ernest James Wood

WOOD – Ernest James “Sonny”, 76, of Ebensburg, passed away Dec. 18, 2020. Born Nov. 7, 1944 in Nanty Glo, son of the late Ernest and Christena Wood. Preceded in death by brother, Thomas. Survived by wife,  Catherine Wood; and children, Toby (Rick) Malcotti; Tricia Bopp; Daniel (Jennifer) Newman; James (Salina Swartz) Newman; Eric (Alicia) Newman; and Alicia (Philip) Hogan. Siblings, Margaret Delehunt; Carole Hockenberry; Mary Jane Childress; Andrea (Robert) Reed; and Ellen (Jack) Dinsmore. Sonny is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Due to current COVID-19 restrictions at this time, services are private. Arrangements are in care of the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Ebensburg.
