Obituary of Anna Jean Hagens
HAGENS – Anna Jean (Koscho) “A.J.”, “Gram”, “Great-Great”, 87, of Ebensburg, formerly of Nanty Glo, passed away January 29, 2021 at UPMC Montefiore Hospital, Pittsburgh. Born September 4, 1933 in Nanty Glo, daughter of George Koscho and Margaret (Nicol) Koscho-Krampy. Preceeded in death by parents, step-father Peter Krampy, husband Floyd M. Hagens, brother George and infant step-brother Peter Paul. Survived by children: Beverly (George) Kibler, Maryland; Brenda (Gary) Averi, Mundys Corner; Jeffrey (Kim) Hagens, Nanty Glo; and Brian (Mary) Hagens, West Virginia. Also grandchildren: Britt (Shawn) Renner; Todd Lloyd; Renee Hagens; Lisa (Mike) Pavelek; Alyson Averi (Nick); Alan (Madeline) Averi; step-granddaughter Heidi Younkin, and great-grandchildren: Chase Renner, Hunter Cline, Eli Averi, Emma Tremmel, and step great grandson Michael Pavelek. Anna Jean had attended the Nanty Glo Christian & Missionary Alliance Church, and had been active as member of the Nanty Glo Fire Ladies and Cambria County Fire Ladies Auxiliary’s. An avid bowler, she was also a member of the Women’s Independent Bowling Leagues. Anna Jean enjoyed spending time with her friends, but always considered her greatest achievement to be her family. Friends will be received from 3 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Ebensburg, where a Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, the Rev. Geno Bartoletti, officiating. Interment at Lloyd Cemetery, Ebensburg. In lieu of flowers, donations in Anna Jean’s memory may be made to the Nanty Glo Fire Department, 902 Chestnut Street, Nanty Glo, Pa. 15943.
