Obituary of Darrin E. Rice

RICE – Darrin Edward, 50, of Ebensburg, passed away February 24, 2021 at home.  Born January 18, 1971 in Spangler, son of Ronald A. Rice and Patricia (Kerchenske) Scotilla.  Preceeded in death by father Ronald Rice, step-father Donald J. Scotilla, as well as paternal and maternal grandparents.  Survived by mother, of Ebensburg; daughter Kaylee Morris, and grandsons Blake and Dexter, of Ebensburg.  Also survived by siblings:  Chris (Kelly) Rice; Rhonda Rice, twin sister Dana (Craig) Descavish, step-sister Jill (Giorgio) Rammaccioti, step-brother Scott (Maggie) Scotilla; and nieces Ashley, Brianna, Chesa, Delaney & York, and nephews Cory, Bryce & Mark.  Darrin was a kind, hardworking and caring man.  He took great care of his mother and she was his biggest supporter.  He loved gardening, fishing, hunting and bowling.  He rescued all of his cats (Lucky, Silly, Coco, Joey & Orangy) and loved to tell you stories and show you pictures of them.  He was taken away from us too soon because of his addiction, a disease that affects so many.  If you are addicted to drugs, please, in Darrin’s memory, seek help.  A Funeral Mass and gathering will be held at the convenience of the  family, Rev. Fr.
