Obituary of Greg Averi

AVERI – Greg, 61, of Mundys Corner, passed away April 7, 2021 at home. Born Dec. 22, 1959 in Johnstown, son of the late John and Esther “Terri” Averi. Preceded in death by infant sister, Jennifer. Survived by brother, Gary (Brenda) Averi; sister, Terri Lynn Averi; nephews and nieces, Alan (Madeline) and Alyson (Nick) Averi; Lawson, Grayson and Hudson Priestley; great nephew, Eli Averi; and great niece, Emma Tremmel. An avid outdoorsman, Greg loved hunting and fishing. His pride and joy was his nieces and nephews and spending time with them at “the land.” Greg will always be remembered as the friendly mail carrier who even carried dog biscuits for his four-legged friends along his route. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Sunday at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Nanty Glo, where funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, Pastor Geno Bartoletti, officiating. Interment, St. Mary’s Cemetery, Nanty Glo.
