Obituary of Gregory Paul Girard

GIRARD - Gregory Paul, 57, of Keystone House, Ebensburg Center, passed away May 26, 2021 at UPMC Altoona Hospital.  Born July 3, 1963 in Philadelphia, son of the late Harold H. Girard and Jeannette (Fleury) Girard-Soule.  Preceded in death by brother,  Marcel "Mike" Girard and sister, Denise Gentile.  Survived by brother and sisters:  Mark Girard, Chesapeake, Virginia;  Georgette "Sam" Gable and Anita Davis, both of Philadelphia, and Theresa "Terry" Carr, of Lewiston, Maine.  Also survived by his Ebensburg Center family of friends and caregivers.  Greg had been a resident of the Ebensburg Center since the age of three, he was a handsome man with a nice smile and a fun personality.  He enjoyed interacting with his caregivers.  He loved his snacks, particularly chocolate milk, Mountain Dew, and his M & Ms.  Greg enjoyed going on van rides and taking in the scenery.  He also enjoyed sitting in his recliner chair, leaning over the side so he could tap preferred items, such as a plastic bowling pin or frisbee to the floor.   He always enjoyed being outside and in his younger years loved swinging on the swing.   A funeral service and burial will be held at the convenience of the family.  Local arrangements are in the care of the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Ebensburg.  (www.askew-houser.com)
