Obituary of Alma June Winning

WINNING- Alma June, 82, of Nanty Glo, passed away April 10, 2019 at Memorial Medical Center. Born March 28, 1937 in Belsano, daughter of the late Thomas and Viola (Cole) Smith. Preceded in death by her husband, John Jr.; three sisters, and six brothers. Survived by children, Thomas Bush, Mark (Gina) Bush, Dave Bush, Karen (Ralph) Yowell, Michelle (Jerry) Winning, Cathy Winning, John III (Lolita) Winning, and Linda Winning. Grandchildren, Luke, Alissa, Loran, Brittney, Emily, Nicholas, Brandon, Alex, Andrew, Angelina, and Jack. Great Grandson, Carter. Also survived by her twin sister, Jane McGarry and numerous nieces & nephews. Alma was a lifelong and devoted member of Cardiff Road Church of God, Nanty Glo, for over 50 years. She loved camping and attending the Indian festival. She loved her late husband John Winning Jr., to whom she was married to for 32 years. She especially loved her grandkids, who were her pride and joy. Alma devoted her life to Jesus, and enjoyed teaching children Sunday school, which brought her a lot of pride. Friends will be received from 4:00 p.m. until time of funeral service at 6:00 p.m. on Monday at Cardiff Road Church of God, Pastor Bob Westrick, officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations in Alma’s memory may be made to her family. Arrangements are in care of Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Nanty Glo.
