Obituary of Monroe Bracken

BRACKEN - Monroe “Pete”, 91 , of Erie, formerly of Mundys Corner, passed away Nov. 18, 2022 at UPMC-Hamot Medical Center, Erie. Born January 16, 1931 in Conemaugh, son of the late David and Alice (Edwards) Bracken. Preceded in death by wife, Violet (Cramer) Bracken;son in law, Darrel Hogan; and sister-in-law, Dorothy, Bracken. Survived by daughter, Ronda Hogan; son, Jeffrey (Jeanne) Bracken; granddaughter, Nicole Canter; brother, Elwood Bracken; and sister, Pauline Canter. US Army veteran having served during the Korean War. Retired coal miner. Member UMWA. Lifelong woodworker, puzzleworker and pie maker. Friends will be received from 10 a.m. until time of funeral service at noon on Friday at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Nanty Glo, Pastor Ruby Mader, officiating. Interment, Pike Brethren Cemetery, Mundys Corner.
