TUSING – Betty J., 86, of Ebensburg, formerly of Emporium and Dubois, was called home by her Lord and Savior on Mother’s Day, May 14, 2023 from Cambria Care Center, Ebensburg. Born Dec. 30, 1936 in Westmoreland Co., raised by foster parents, Charles and Beulah Baird. Preceded in death by former husband, Ronald R. Tusing and son, Ronald C. Tusing. Survived by sons, Douglas (Regina) Tusing, of Ebensburg; David (Irene) Tusing, of Austin, Texas; grandchildren, Matthew Tusing, Adam Tusing, Brittany (Bobby) Bono, Jamie Tusing, Victoria (Erik) Woody and Danielle Tusing; and great grandchildren Bobby, Lillian, Amber, Chloe and Noah. In her younger years, Betty was a busy mom and a happy homemaker who was heavily involved with the March of Dimes and the school PTA.  Later, she owned and operated various businesses, including "House of Flowers" in Emporium as well as a small catering business, before working as an in-home personal care provider.  Betty was a very caring and giving person, evolving into a life of part-time and volunteer work with numerous churches, charities, senior centers and thrift stores. Member of Grace Church of Ebensburg. Friends will be received from 4 p.m. until time of memorial service at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, May 23, at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Ebensburg, Pastor Thomas Broderick officiating. Interment, Edgewood Cemetery, Saltsburg. In lieu of flowers, donations in Betty’s memory may be made to Grace Church of Ebensburg. Condolences may be left for the family at www.askew-houser.com
