Obituary of Pauline B. Smith
SMITH – Pauline B., 92 of Ebensburg passed away July 3, 2023 at Memorial Medical Center. Born March 13, 1931 in Bakerton, Pa., daughter of the late Peter and Julia Brenza. Preceded in death by her husband James J. Smith, who passed in 2016 and brothers: Peter, James and Robert Brenza. Survived by sons: James Mark Smith, Pasadena, Maryland and Dr. Douglas Alan Smith, Westminster, Mass. Also survived by brother David Brenza of Humble, Texas. Pauline had worked as a purchasing agent for the former Pennsylvania Mines Corporation, and had also worked early on in her career for the Superintendent of Schools in Cambria County. Her faith was very important to her, she was an active member of Holy Name Roman Catholic Church. She enjoyed reading and was a very active and independent person, caring for herself and driving right up to her time of passing. Friends will be received from 9:30 a.m. Monday at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Ebensburg until the time of Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m., Monday, at Holy Name Church, Rev. Brian Warchola, celebrant. Entombment at Holy Name Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, donations in Pauline’s memory may be made to the Ebensburg-Cambria Free Public Library.
