Obituary of Oliver E. Hofecker
HOFECKER – Oliver E. “Ollie”, 92, of Vinco, went to be with the Lord April 14, 2019. Born Feb. 11, 1927 in Johnstown, son of the late Oliver and Verna (Gillin) Hofecker. Preceded in death by brother, William “Bill”. Survived by wife of 70 years, the former Margaret Holtz; daughters, Michele (Craig) Stormer; and Denise (Rob) Dysert. Four grandsons, Christopher (An) and Brandon Stormer; Mark (Katie) and Scott Dysert. Two great granddaughters, Charlotte Stormer and Clare Dysert. Member of St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Mundys Corner. Retired from the Conemaugh & Blacklick Railroad with 40 years of service. WW II Navy veteran, having served in the South Pacific on the USS Bushnell. Member of Lions Club and Quemahoning Hunting Club. Ollie is now in heaven with his beloved dog, Becky. Friends will be received from 4 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Nanty Glo, and from 10:30 a.m. until time of funeral service at 11 a.m. on Thursday at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Pastor Kevin McNamara, officiating. Interment, Forest Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Ollie’s memory may be made to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church Mortgage Fund.
