MURTON – Darl R., 74, of Mundys Corner, went to be with the Lord December 9, 2023. Born May 10, 1949 in Johnstown, son of the late C. Donald and Delores Murton. Survived by wife, the former Vicki Rose, to whom he was married for 54 years; children, Susan (Jeff) Penrod; and Daron (Sharon) Murton. Grandchildren, Emily Penrod; Ryan Roles; Reagan Murton; and great grandson, Jeffrey. Brother of Donna (Dennis) Kelly; Denise (Frank) Alexander; Daniel Murton; and numerous nieces and nephews. Member of First Baptist Church of Nanty Glo. US Army veteran during the Vietnam War. Field Supervisor for East Resources Inc., for 26 years. Upon retiring, Darl started his own company, Chestnut Ridge Energy of PA. Member of the Oddfellows, Alma Lodge and Wm. F. Packer Encampment. Darl enjoyed camping and boating at Raystown Lake and was also an avid horseman throughout his entire life. He will be sadly missed by all of his family and friends. Friends will be received from 10 a.m. until time of memorial service at 11 a.m. on Wednesday at First Baptist Church of Nanty Glo, Pastor Geno Bartoletti, officiating. Interment, Pike Brethren Cemetery, Mundys Corner. Military Rite by Blacklick Valley Ritual Team. In lieu of flowers, donations in Darl’s memory may be made to Cambria County 4-H Horse Club.
