Obituary of Roger L. Bachik

BACHIK – Roger L.” Buck”, 77, of Chickaree, went to be with the Lord on Dec. 22, 2023, with family by his side. Born September 20, 1946 in Strongstown, son of the late George Bachik and Margaret Parrott. Preceded in death by sister, Gloria Wessman; and brother, Donald Boring. Survived by wife, Doris to whom he was married for 56 years; and children, Roger (Tammy); Elaine (Craig); Tayna (Bill); and John (Sandy). Grandchildren, Nathan, Josh, Allison, Gavin, Laden, Ell, Hudson and Reece. Great Grandchildren, Selina, Autumn, Harper, Zachary and Charlie. Brother of Georgia Frederick; Dennis (Ginger) and Bernice Bachik; and numerous nieces and nephews.  US Navy veteran, having served in the Vietnam War. Member of the Army National Guard. Retired from Hilltop Nursery. Buck was an avid outdoorsman and also enjoyed tending to his garden and baking. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Nanty Glo, where funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Pastor Cliff Richey, officiating.
