Obituary of John Adam Sava
Please share a memory of John to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
SAVA – John Adam “Bow”, 31, of Belsano, went to his most awesome hunting spot for eternity on Thursday, January 11, 2024. Born April 28, 1992 in Johnstown. Preceded in death by his four-legged family – Sam, Bear and Rebel. Survived by his parents, Mary and John Sava; grandfather, John Sava; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and family of the heart, such as Jeff and Renee. His beloved four-legged family – Jax, Ruger and Dan- will sorely miss him. From an early age, Bow found his place in the woods and outside. He was able to enjoy many trips to see God’s great outdoors and its critters. It gave him quality life due to his battle from childhood with Crohn’s Disease and Primary Sclerosing Cholangitis, which in recent years became very difficult to medically manage. Friend to so many, offering help in so many ways. For many years, Bow was very active in packing Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes, with nearly 5,000 packed through years to send God’s love around the world. Special thanks to Dr. Lance DeFranscisco, Nurse Karen and the staff of Blair Gastro for their excellent care and ever vigilant search for new treatments. Friends will be received from 2 p.m. until time of funeral service at 4 p.m. on Sunday at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Nanty Glo, Pastor Bob Westrick, officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations are appreciated to the Humane Society (or other pet rescue) in honor of his love of animals. Condolences may be left for the family at www.askew-houser.com
