Obituary of Christopher O. Lieb
Please share a memory of Christopher to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Christopher (Chris) D. Lieb, 59, passed away surrounded by his family Jan. 19, 2024.
He was born Friday, March 27, 1964, to Louis J. Lieb Jr. and Yvonne D. Lieb. Originally from Ebensburg, Pa., Chris moved to Jamestown, R.I. in 2008 before moving to the Jepson Lane Group Home in Middletown, R.I. in 2011.
Chris was known for his quiet, sweet demeanor, his crooked, sly smile and his fluttering eyelashes. He was a passionate musician in his youth, often found dancing, singing or playing drums for family and friends. In his formative years, he was quite an athlete, playing basketball in the driveway with friends, participating in the Pennsylvania Special Olympics or running as fast as he could to jump into the neighbor’s pool.
He made many friends at Bridges Day Program and created beautiful artwork at the Out of the Box Gallery workshop when he lived in Jamestown. Later, when he moved to Middletown, he also attended the Maher Center’s workshop in Bristol, R.I. for many happy years.
He was the cherished brother of Mary Jo Roberts-Braisted (Lieb), Jamestown, and Polly Conner (Lieb) of Herndon, Va. He was the favorite brother-in-law to Robert Braisted, Chris Conner and Carol Lieb (Michael), beloved uncle to Justin, Michelle, Sarah, Emily, Elliot, Maddie and Joe and their families.
He was preceded in death by his father, Louis (Herky) Lieb, brother Michael J. Lieb and nephew Samuel C. Conner.
We are forever grateful for Barbara Wordell and the incredible, loving staff/family at the James L. Maher Center’s Jepson Lane group home. They have taken such loving and amazing care of Chris for so many years. We also would like to acknowledge the wonderful nurses and staff at Hope Health Hospice who have taken such great care of him for almost two years.
He will be dearly missed and forever remembered for the love, laughter and smiles he brought to those who had the pleasure of knowing him.
In lieu of flowers, please consider donations in his memory to Hope Health Hospice, www.hope healthco.org/ways-to-give/donatenow/ or The James L Maher Center -https://www.mahercenter.org/support-us so they can continue to support families as they did ours. We couldn’t have done it without them.
