Rose, John, Dan and all of the Kupchella family who are mourning the loss of Bern. I know that many of my family are doing the same. Bern was such a great friend to Barb and all of us throughout the years. I have thought of her often, I have a picture of she and Barb hanging in my hall way. She was always there to help when it was needed for any occasion/situation. As dad got ill, mom would call me to let me know that Bern had stopped by to 'check in' on them and she would help them if the occasion was needed. She will be greatly missed. Rosemary, John Paul, Danny and the Kupchella family, our hearts are saddened as we hear the news of Bernie’s passing. She was such a big part of the Palko family. Bernie and Barb were such great friends growing up together, sort of inseparable. Jeff and I enjoyed when they would all make a trip to visit us in the Virginia area. Sightseeing in the WDC area and making a stop at the torpedo factory (turned into art/craft shops and museum) in Alexandria and then on to the Fish Market for a schooner of beer. Oh how we had great fun!! We also think of Bernie often when we go to OBX. I believe, besides our Lord who is welcoming Bernie to his banquet table in Heaven, your family who have gone before will be there to be reunited. Barb and my family will be there too. Know that we will keep Bernie and your family in our prayers for strength and comfort. Jeff and Cindy (Palko) Dolan and family

Saddened to hear of Bernie’s passing. I began to know her as a classmate at CVMH School of Nursing. We worked together for a few years on telemetry. During that time we vacationed together driving across the country. We drifted apart over the years. But gosh, I remember so many fun times with Bern, her brothers and sister and their spouses. She was so much fun. We also shared the love for the beach, rental houses on the coast and love of the seashore. Rest in heaven my sweet friend.

My condolences to Bernie’s family, Bernie was such a loving caring person. Thank you to excepting me in your house taking care of your dad, then helping you also. I remember the first time we got together to scrub your rugs. We enjoyed each other’s company,I don’t remember laughing so hard. I am so glad to stay with your Dad, so you could enjoy your friend (nurse’s company. Also you could get your hair done and also your nails done.i will miss your smile and laughter. and enjoy your company. I love you so much, you was like another sister to me. RIP Bernie.
