RAMIREZ – Lewis “Lew”, 79, of Mineral Point, passed away May 15, 2024 at home. Born September 19, 1944 in Johnstown, son of the late Pedro and Tessie (Mohr) Ramirez. Preceded in death by brother, John; sisters, Rose McNemer, Jenny Grove, Lola Farmer and Antonia (Chuchie) Ramirez. Survived by his wife Marilyn (Stouffer) to whom he was married for 58 years; son, Tim (Liz) Ramirez; daughter, Tricia (Kevin) Headley; and granddaughter, Adie Ramirez. Also survived by brothers, Peter Ramirez; Alfredo (Mary) Ramirez; and Albert (Peggy) Ramirez; sisters, Margaret (Jesse) Corley; and Hope Martin; numerous nieces and nephews. Also grand dogs, Sierra, Brodie and Tater. Attended First Baptist Church of Nanty Glo. Retired crane operator from Bethlehem Steel with 28 years of service and North American Hoganas, Johnstown with 25 years of service. Lew loved fishing, hunting and spending time with his family. Friends will be received from 10 a.m. until time of funeral service at 11 a.m. on Tuesday at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Nanty Glo, Pastor Geno Bartoletti, officiating. Interment to follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery, Johnstown. In lieu of flowers, donations in Lew’s memory may be made to First Baptist Church of Nanty Glo.
