Obituary of Joseph Silvester Yulis
YULIS – Silvester J. “Butch”, 72, of Belleville, Pa., and a native of Ebensburg, passed away peacefully on August 11, 2024 at home. Born May 29, 1952 in Johnstown, son of the late Silvester and Clara A. (Risaliti) Yulis. Survived by his wife of 21 years, the former Lorraine (Fox) Yulis; daughters: Carrie (Elmer) Weaver; Michelle (Tim) Kenepp; and Brenda Kuzar and fiancé Joe; grandchildren: Kristopher, Brandon, Kyle, Kevin, Keith, Khloe, Ashley and Alexandria; great-grandchildren: Brailynn, Kashton, Kreedyn, Nalia and Blakely; great-great grandchildren: Audrey, Landon, and Brinley; and Butch’s sister Anita Yulis. Former owner of the West End Tavern in Ebensburg. A lifelong car enthusiast, Butch enjoy attending auto races at Port Royal, watching and assisting race drivers, coaching his grandkids to race, and enjoying NASCAR races with his family. He had been employed at Lowes and was a well- respected mechanic. Friends will be received from 10:00 a.m., Monday, August 19th, at Holy Name Church Narthex, followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m., Fr. Brian Warchola, celebrant. Interment at Holy Name Cemetery . In lieu of flowers, donations made be made to Butch’s family. Arrangements are in the care of the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Ebensburg.
