McCLOSKEY – Kathleen A. “Kathy” 80, of Nanty Glo, passed to eternal peace on September 22, 2024 at UPMC Altoona. Born October 1, 1943 in Altoona, the daughter of the late Harry S. and Inez Davison Paul, and lived her entire life in Ebensburg. A graduate of Central Cambria High School, Kathy attended Cambria Rowe Business College until starting her 42-year career in the banking industry, 36 years of which with the First National Bank of Pennsylvania.
Kathy was preceded in death not only by her parents, but by her husband Bernard G. in 1992, after nearly 21 years of marriage. She is survived by a sister Christine (Barry) Banfield of Nanty Glo and her son, Paul and his beautiful daughter Autumn who made her grandmother beam with joy. Also surviving is her aunt Janet (Davison) Orange, the widow of Leonard G. Orange, Jr. of Ebensburg, and numerous cousins.
Some of her happiest memories of her early years were being a Girl Scout, eventually earning her Curved Bar, the highest honor in Girl Scouting at that time, and being involved in church activities including singing in the choir. Another proud achievement was belonging to the Central Cambria Area Lions Club, first as being their first female member and having held several positions from secretary/treasurer for a number of years and being a past president of the club.
Kathy would like to thank all those she worked with through the years for allowing her to share their friendship and lives with her and all the customers through the years that she had the privilege to know and help.
At Kathy’s request, there will be no viewing, with a memorial service to be conducted at a later date by her family. In Lieu of flowers, donations in Kathy’s name may be made to her favorite charity, Ebensburg Area Ambulance Association. Arrangements are in the care of the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes Inc., Nanty Glo, Condolences may be left for the family at www.askew-houser.com
The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: He leadeth me beside the still waters.
He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for Thou art with me;
Thy rod and Thy staff they comfort me.
Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: Thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.
