BURKHART – Alma V., 91, of Mundys Corner, went to be with the Lord Jan. 2, 2025. Born Feb. 25, 1933 in Mundys Corner, daughter of the late Leroy and Laura (Schoop) Burkhart. Preceded in death by brothers, George, Samuel and William; and sisters, Mary Jane Newcomer and Dorothy Little. Last surviving member of her immediate family. Alma was a beloved aunt of 4 generations of nieces and nephews; and also had many friends who loved her. A retired seamstress for 42 years from the former Cay Artley’s, Johnstown and JoAnn Dress Factory, Ebensburg. After her retirement, she took an interest in genealogy and spent the past 20 years researching her family tree. Alma also enjoyed baking, cake decorating and especially making fudge for her family and relatives…and was known by all as “the fudge-maker.”   She also enjoyed gardening and planting her flowers. Friends will be received from 6-8 p.m. on Monday at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Nanty Glo, where funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Pastor Bill Warrick, officiating.
