SNYDER – Karen Louise (Petrisko), 48, of Jackson Twp., went to be with the Lord, January 16, 2013. Born August 28, 1964 in Spangler, daughter of Andrew and Irene (Francisco) Petrisko. Preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Michael and Anna Francisco; and paternal grandparents, Mary and Andrew Petrisko, Sr. In addition to her parents, Karen is survived by her husband, Dennis Snyder; and children, Alyssa (fiancé Craig Olear) Burkey; Ian Burkey; and Autumn Snyder. Also survived by sister, Diane (Gary) Talerico; twin sister, Sharon (John) Moore; and brother, Greg Petrisko; nieces, Nicole, Kelley, Bethany, Meadow, Becky, Genevieve, Shannon, and Alex; nephews, Christopher, Matthew, Josh, Eric, Shawn, Noah and Luke; as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins; mother in law, father in law and brothers in law. Member of St. John Vianney Catholic Church, Mundys Corner. Employed at Giant Eagle in Ebensburg, where she was a baker and cake decorator. Karen loved gardening, baking and spending time with her family. Karen’s last selfless act was giving the gift of life to others through organ donation. She will be sadly missed by all those she touched. Friends will be received from 2-4 & 6-9 p.m. on Sunday at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Nanty Glo, where vigil prayer service will be held. Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. on Monday at St. John Vianney Church, the Very Rev. Andrew C. Stanko, V.F., celebrant. Committal at Holy Name Cemetery, Ebensburg. In lieu of flowers, donations in Karen’s memory may be made to The Center for Recovery and Education.
