Obituary of Evelyn E. Baxter

BAXTER Evelyn E., 91, of Mundys Corner, went to be with her Lord on May 16, 2015. Born March 4, 1924 in Smithmill, PA, daughter of the late Peter and Catherine (Temo) Lashinsky. Preceded in death by husband, Joseph; daughter, Patricia L. Wagner; grandson, Rodney Wagner; and brothers, John, George, Metro, Wasco and Michael. Survived by sons, Jeff (Charlene) Baxter; and Joe (Joni) Baxter. Grandchildren, John; Stoney (Chris); Scott (Carrie Ann); Billie Jo (Craig); Brian (Jennifer); Ashley (Jerrod); and Brittney. Great Grandchildren, Stoney (Shauni); Danny; Stephanie; Rodney; Justina; Brady; Rylee; Jaxton; Rykker; and Barett. Sisters, Rosemary Steele; and Janet Shero. Also survived by numerous loving nieces, nephews and sisters in law; as well as loving son in law, John Wagner. Member of Holy Ascension Orthodox Church, Nanty Glo. Evelyn was a devoted Pittsburgh Pirate and Steeler fan. Friends will be received from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Monday at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Nanty Glo, where Parastas will be sung. Brief Service will be held at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, followed by Divine Liturgy at 9 a.m. at Holy Ascension Church, the Very Rev. George Hnatko, officiating. Interment, Holy Ascension Cemetery, Nanty Glo. In lieu of flowers, donations in Evelyn' s memory may be made to her church.
