ADAMS – Joseph C., 56, of Jackson Twp., passed away Oct. 26, 2018, at home after a long illness with ALS, surrounded by his loving family. Born June 20, 1962 in Pittsburgh, son of James and Jude Ann Adams. Preceded in death by grandparents, Joseph and Ida Bradley; and Paul and Agnes Adams; and son, Joshua Denke. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife of 28 years, the former Mary Kindja; children, Rick, Ryan, Tyler and Kaylee; and brother, James. Also survived by father and mother in law, John and Karen Kindja; brothers and sisters in law; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews, special friends; and his "summer families". US Air Force veteran. Corrections officer with SCI-Cresson, with 22 years of service. Joe enjoyed all of his childrens sports activities. A special thank you to The Johnstown VA Home Base Group, The ALS Association. and The Jackson Twp. Fire Department. At the request of the deceased, there will be no viewing. A gathering of family and friends will be held from 10 a.m. until time of memorial service at 11 a.m. on Monday at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Nanty Glo, Pastor Geno Bartoletti, officiating. Military Rite by Nanty Glo, Twin Rocks and Vintondale Area Ritual Team. In lieu of flowers, donations in Joe’s memory may be made to The ALS Association.
