WACHS Velma G., 77, of Johnstown, went to be with the Lord Oct. 24, 2014. Born March 19, 1937 in Johnstown, daughter of the late Horatio and Opal Smay. Preceded in death by husband, Albert Earl Wachs; infant daughter, Cindy; great grandson, Donte Sanchez; 2 brothers and 3 sisters. Survived by children, Geraldine Taylor; Dennis Sr., (Tammy) Wachs; Albert, Sr. (Annette) Wachs; Russell, Sr. (Robin) Wachs; and Opal (Richard) Gary. 12 grandchildren; several great grandchildren; and sister, Annie Gearrty. Friends will be received from noon until time of funeral service at 2 p.m. on Saturday at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Nanty Glo, the Rev. John Weaver officiating. Interment, Dunlo United Methodist Cemetery.
