Obituary of Mary Catherine Nazick

NAZICK Mary Catherine, 88, Nanty Glo, passed away Oct. 8, 2015, at the Golden Living Center, Johnstown. Born Sept. 17, 1927, in Bolivar, daughter of the late Stephen and Anna (Paunovich) Nazick. Preceded in death by sisters, Caroline and Rose Kozel; brother, Vincent; and brothers-in-law, Walter Kozel, Sylvester Harris and Anthony Brzozowski; and sister-in-law, Katherine Nazick. Survived by siblings, Agnes; Nicholas (Mary Radnoti); William Nazick; Julia Brzozowski; Frances (Paul) Romanko; Eleanor Harris; Barbara (Joe) Riley; and aunt, Caroline Kolich. Mary was a very special aunt to numerous nieces and nephews. Before retirement, she was a resident of Ligonier for over 50 years, where she owned and operated Mary Nazick s Beauty Shop. Mary loved spending time with her family and created many years of lasting memories cooking dinners for the holidays and other special occasions. She enjoyed baking and creating foods from traditional Croatian recipes, that she loved sharing with family and friends. She will be sadly missed for her wonderful generosity. Friends will be received from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Monday at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes Inc., Nanty Glo, followed by funeral Mass at noon, where she was a member, at St. Mary s Catholic Church, Nanty Glo, the Rev. Leonard Voytek, celebrant. Committal to follow at Grandview Cemetery, Johnstown.
