WALKER – Betty Jean, 84, of Nanty Glo. God called her home on March 12, 2018, surrounded by her family and friends. Born August 28, 1933 in Ebensburg R.D., daughter of the late Elmer and Mary (Longstreth) Wood. Preceded in death by her husband, Edwin T. Walker; son, Jeffrey Walker; infant son, Randy; infant sister, Junie; sister, Viola McClinsey; brothers, William and Fred Wood; and infant brother, Elmer Wood. Survived by children, Kathy (William) Cruley; Robin (Tom) Hotham, of Ohio; Melissa (Darrell) Morris; and Patty (Mark) Sauka. Grandchildren, Sarah (Gary) Norris, Ian Hotham, Jeffrey Walker, Craig Cruley, Chelsea and Emily Morris; and Adam and Lauren Sauka. Also survived by her two beloved dogs, Daisy and Cocoa. Betty was a committed mother and wife who loved her church and enjoyed spending time with her family. She was a wonderful baker, community volunteer, and always taught her family you never get rid of anything because you never know when somebody might need it. She was totally dedicated to her children and their happiness was her first priority. Friends will be received from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Nanty Glo, where funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, Pastor Bob Westrick, officiating. Interment, Pike Brethren Cemetery, Mundys Corner. In lieu of flowers, donations in Betty’s memory may be made to the Humane Society of Cambria County. She has seen the Lord and is in His presence where she will have peace forever. She is there looking down from Heaven, watching over her family and looking forward to the day they will join her in God’s eternal happiness. She is on her way to a beautiful and loving resting place.
